Modern Slavery Statement
Deep Cleaning Richmond Modern Slavery Commitment
Deep Cleaning Richmond is firmly committed to operating in an ethical, responsible, and transparent manner. We recognise that modern slavery and human trafficking are serious global crimes and human rights abuses that can occur in any industry and country. This Modern Slavery Statement sets out the steps we take to prevent, identify, and address any risk of modern slavery within our own operations and our supply chains.
Our business provides professional cleaning services, including deep cleaning and specialist sanitation, to commercial and domestic clients. While our sector is considered at higher risk for labour exploitation, we are determined that everyone who works for or with Deep Cleaning Richmond does so freely, is treated with dignity, and receives fair pay and safe working conditions.
Zero-Tolerance Policy on Modern Slavery
Deep Cleaning Richmond has a strict zero-tolerance policy towards all forms of modern slavery, human trafficking, forced labour, and child labour. We do not tolerate any practice that undermines the freedom or fundamental rights of individuals, whether in our direct workforce or anywhere in our supply chain. This commitment is endorsed by our leadership and applies to all employees, contractors, agency workers, and suppliers.
All employment with Deep Cleaning Richmond is voluntary. Workers are free to leave their employment following reasonable notice. We prohibit any form of debt bondage, retention of identity documents, or threats that could coerce individuals into working against their will. We comply with all applicable labour, employment, and health and safety laws and expect the same from our business partners.
Responsible Procurement and Supplier Audits
We recognise that the greatest risk of modern slavery may arise within extended supply chains, particularly where there is limited visibility. Deep Cleaning Richmond is committed to working only with suppliers and contractors who share our values and can demonstrate respect for human rights.
As part of our procurement process, new suppliers are assessed against ethical and labour standards. We seek information on their employment practices, recruitment methods, and use of subcontractors. High-risk categories, such as labour agencies, cleaning product manufacturers, and equipment suppliers, receive enhanced scrutiny.
We conduct periodic supplier audits, which may include site visits, document reviews, and worker interviews where appropriate and proportionate to the risk. Any supplier found to be in breach of our anti-slavery expectations will be required to implement corrective actions within a defined timeframe. Where serious or repeated non-compliance is identified, we will suspend or terminate the business relationship.
Awareness, Training, and Reporting Channels
Deep Cleaning Richmond is committed to fostering a culture where concerns about exploitation or unethical practices can be raised safely and without fear of reprisal. We provide guidance to managers and relevant staff on identifying potential signs of modern slavery, such as unexplained deductions from wages, signs of intimidation, or workers appearing under the control of third parties.
Employees, agency workers, clients, and suppliers are encouraged to report any concerns or suspected instances of modern slavery or human trafficking. Reports can be made to management in person or in writing. All reports will be treated seriously, handled in confidence as far as possible, and investigated promptly and impartially.
We do not tolerate victimisation or retaliation against anyone who raises a concern in good faith. Where appropriate, we will work with relevant authorities and organisations to support investigations and protect affected individuals.
Continuous Improvement and Annual Review
Deep Cleaning Richmond understands that tackling modern slavery is an ongoing responsibility. We are committed to reviewing and improving our policies, due diligence processes, and training on a regular basis to ensure they remain effective.
This Modern Slavery Statement will be reviewed at least once every twelve months by senior management. The review will consider changes in legislation, industry best practice, operational developments, and the findings from supplier audits and any reported concerns. Where improvements are identified, we will update our procedures and communicate changes to staff and suppliers.
By maintaining a zero-tolerance approach, strengthening our supply chain oversight, and encouraging open reporting, Deep Cleaning Richmond aims to help eradicate modern slavery in all its forms from our business and the wider cleaning industry.
